Family Holiday

The house was very well equipped and had a Wii and a PS to keep the children amused. The pool is just a short walk away. Beaches are abut 20 mins by car.The restaurants in the resort were very good with the Italian proving very popular with my family. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the resort as an ideal place for a family holiday.

In need of a quick family break, we returned to the same place that we used last year. Why? Because it provides everything we needed - spacious living accommodation at a reasonable price, glorious peace and quiet, amenities nearby, a selection of pools, and within driving distance of Murcia, Cartagena, San Javier airport and the mar menor.
The location is perfect for people who are happy to self cater (there are 2/3 restaurants on site although we weren't massively impressed by them last year) and who are happy to 'stay in' in an evening - there's still plenty to keep people occupied if you don't just want to sit on one of the balconies and relax - including satellite TV and games consoles - which proved a big hit with our young son.
Another restful break and we're already thinking of going back next year!

We enjoyed a family holiday in this property. The property provided all the mod cons with three fabulous sun terraces overlooking mountains. The location was quite a walk from the town centre and supermarket but with plenty time on our hands and a nice leisurely stroll this did not bother us. The property was clean and well maintained although we could have done with a little more bench space in the kitchen area. The owner provided a quick and efficient service and was happy to help with a late stay in the property for our early evening flight home.
The property manager Phil was more than helpful too. He transferred us from the airport and recommended a super day out for the family to Cartagena - a must for fabulous historical buildings, a brilliant harbour with boat trips for a mere 5 euros per person, a town steeped in Roman history and a fabulous shop till you drop for our two teenage daughters.
We dined at the Italian restaurant, the Tapas Bar and the Golf Club on the resort. The food in each place tasty and enjoyable. Some facilities on site were not open such as the ice cream parlour and Bamboo restaurant but if we return we may get the opportunity to sample these too.
Thanks again. This was just the holiday we needed to chill out and relax prior to our daughters A levels!

Off-season but still warm and plenty to do

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this lovely, clean and comfortable house on the La Torre Resort. The first time was last year when we had a great time with our children. This time we’d thought we’d return off-season for a relaxing few days by ourselves.

Of course, we knew the weather would be a lot cooler in February than it was when we last stayed in June. However, it was much better than we’d expected with nice warm days tempered by a cool breeze. To cool for swimming in the outdoor pool though. This was a shame, as it’s only about 70m from the house (the kids spent most of the day in it last year, as it was so handy for them).

In case anyone reading this is worried about noise from the pool, don’t be. When we booked last year, we did worry this could be a problem but our fears were unfounded. This is because the pool is not within direct sight of the house and walls / other houses seem to act as a sound barrier. In fact, for us, this is one of the house’s plus points - its quiet but accessible location.

As it was low season, we had to fly into Alicante airport this time. This only added an extra 30 - 40 minutes driving time though from when we’d landed at Murcia airport (San Javier - 20 minutes from the resort). Once again, car hire was easy and we were quickly on our way after landing.

One of my main reasons for renting this house is the excellent golf on offer at the resort. The clubhouse is literally a five-minute walk from the front door; it couldn’t be more convenient. And I did manage to play a couple of rounds this trip without my wife feeling she’d become a grass widow!

We didn’t do much cooking this time, as there we’re only the two of us to think about. So, we made good use of the resort’s and local bars and restaurants. There really is a wide choice of cooking styles to choose from and all within a reasonable distance. In this respect, the local amenity folder in the house is a big help as it gives plenty of info on the area.

For the rest of our time we enjoyed exploring and shopping in Murcia and Cartagena. Both of these are really nice towns and within an easy half hour’s drive of the resort.

I don’t know if we’ll make it back again this year but we’ll certainly try to. In the meantime, we have no hesitation in recommending it as a great place to enjoy your holiday to the full.
